| | Join the Conversation: Equity in Land Conservation and Recreation, March 10 The NextGen Committee of the Lake George Land Conservancy believes sharing the benefits of land conservation with every individual is necessary to ensuring equity in the landscape of outdoor recreation and land protection. The public is invited to join us for a conversation and Q&A around inequities in access and enjoyment in and around the Adirondack Park. Panelists will engage in a conversation around the issues faced in the Adirondack Park today, how we can ensure the benefits of land conservation are shared with all members of our community, and what we can do to work towards a safer park. Hosted by YMCA Camp Chingachgook in Fort Ann, the talk begins at 5:30 PM, with guests encouraged to arrive early for drinks and an opportunity to walk to camp grounds. The panel is composed of Rocci Aguirre of the Adirondack Council, Pete Nelson and Tiffany Rea-Fisher of the Adirondack Diversity Initiative, and Martha Swan of John Brown Lives!. The event is free, but a suggested donation of $10 can be made at the door. |

The Lake George training will be March 11, 10 am - noon, at the Hearthstone Point Campground. Refresh your winter outing safety skills while learning to identify hemlock trees, survey for hemlock woolly adelgid, and report your findings using iMapInvasives. This in-person training is designed to gain field experience after participating in an online training webinar, although participation in the webinar is not required to attend this event. |

Be part of our dynamic team and help promote educational programs digitally and in print; work with volunteers including the NextGen Committee; network with fellow Lake George and regional organizations; and learn the inner workings of a land trust.
