LGLC FY19 annual report cover

The LGLC's FY19 Annual Report is Now Available

Printed reports will be in mailboxes this week, but you can see it now through our online link!

During FY19 (July 1, 2018 - June 30, 2019), the LGLC celebrated 30 years of protecting the land that protects the lake. Thanks to you, we will continue to ensure that both the land and lake that it protects are here for future generations to enjoy.

Our business is to protect the land that protects the lake. At its simplest, this means we buy or receive donations of land, conservation easements, or work with partners to do so. At its most complex, it means we create the connections between land and people so that the desire to protect land is instilled in all of us.

Within this annual report, you will read real stories generously shared by a few people who have felt this connection to Lake George. Their experiences may sound familiar to you, or bring a whole new vision of what Lake George, and its conservation, means. All of them are part of our LGLC story.

LGLC Receives Accreditation Renewal

The LGLC has renewed its land trust accreditation – proving once again that, as part of a network of over 400 accredited land trusts across the nation, it is committed to professional excellence and to maintaining the public’s trust in its conservation work.

“Renewing our accreditation shows LGLC’s ongoing commitment to permanent land conservation throughout the Lake George watershed,” said LGLC Executive Director Jamie Brown. “We are a stronger organization than ever for having gone through the rigorous accreditation renewal process. Our strength allows us to permanently protect the land that protects the lake, so that it can be enjoyed today and by future generations.”

Parks and Preserves are Open for Business

As we all individually do our part to limit the spread of the coronavirus, as an organization, we will continue to do what we have always done - offer free, safe access to the great outdoors. Our parks and preserves have  40 miles of trails available for walking and hiking, or event a quiet resting spot. Healthy, fresh air is plentiful, and sunshine peeks through even on the cloudiest of days. Please take advantage of what you, our supporters, have made possible, and enjoy time outside!
