AMY'S ADVENTURE RACE FOR THE LAKE!
Amy’s Adventure Race for the Lake was created by and is hosted by Lake George Land Conservancy's NextGeneration Committee, a volunteer group of young professionals inspired by their love for Lake George and the surrounding lands and waters. The group is committed to bringing awareness to the LGLC’s mission of protecting the land that protects the lake by organizing innovative events geared towards engaging communities around the lake. Since 2017, the Race has raised almost $12,000 for LGLC’s programs and initiatives!
2019 Amy's Race Top 3 Men & Women
A true trail run, the rugged 4.5-mile race course winds through the scenic ponds, marshes and forests of Amy's Park Preserve, amidst the idyllic Indian Brook area, a conservation priority area for the Lake George Land Conservancy.
The overall winner and top male competitor from 2019's race was 2-time Amy's Race winner Volker Burkowski, who finished in 36 minutes 8 seconds. Top female competitor was Kaley Bell (pictured above left with 2nd place women's finisher AnnMary Baker), who came in 3rd overall at 41 minutes and 5 seconds.
THE AFTER PARTY
The awards ceremony takes place at the finish line with the top 3 male and female winners receiving prizes. Music, snacks and beer samples from Bolton Landing Brewery are available for all. Every participant receives a laser-cut wooden medal locally made by Adirondack Etching (pictured). T-shirts and other swag are for sale at the race and the after party.
Runners, family, friends and event volunteers are all invited to join together for the after-race party at Bolton Landing Brewing Co.
Amy's Race winds its way through Amy's Park, a pristine wetland preserve that is a prime example of the benefits of land conservation. Amy's Park, named in memory of Amy Wolgin Weiner, provides habitat to countless species and filters gallons of water flowing down Indian Brook into Lake George. Amy's Race brings attention to this beautiful, protected land made possible by the Lake George Land Conservancy and the Wolgin Family.
