3rd ANNUAL AMY'S ADVENTURE RACE FOR THE LAKE
2018's Top 3 Men and Women
Amy’s Adventure Race for the Lake was created by and is hosted by Lake George Land Conservancy's NextGeneration Committee, a volunteer group of young professionals inspired by their love for Lake George and the surrounding lands and waters. The group is committed to bringing awareness to the LGLC’s mission of protecting the land that protects the lake by organizing innovative events geared towards engaging communities around the lake. Since 2017, the Race has raised almost $8,000 for LGLC’s programs and initiatives!
On the morning of September 28th, runners of all ages will hit the trail for a 4.5-mile race at Amy’s Park, one of LGLC’s preserves located in North Bolton, for the 3rd annual running of the race. The race offers challenging and rugged terrain through this scenic property of ponds, marshes and forests amidst the idyllic Indian Brook area, a conservation priority area for the Lake George Land Conservancy.
After the race has been completed and medals have been handed out at the finish line, we invite all runners along with their family and friends to join us for a celebration and raffles at the Bolton Landing Brewing Company located in downtown Bolton Landing.

* New! *
This year, we will be unveiling our brand new Amy’s Park parking lot and kiosk for the race, which is situated about a half a mile south of the previous trailhead on Padanarum Road (see attached map). This new parking lot will be the new start and finish for the race as well as the location for registration and the medal ceremony.
The Lake George Land Conservancy, along with the Town of Bolton, has been slowly unveiling our Bolton Recreational Hub Plan and these improvements to Amy’s Park are just the beginning of the bigger plan to make improvements to our Bolton preserves as a way of improving user experience and raising awareness for the importance of land protection and conservation in our area.
This year, all of our Amy’s Race proceeds will continue to go to The Hub and we thank YOU for being a part of this amazing initiative!

Please note: Amy’s Race will happen rain or shine and will only be cancelled unless the weather is preventative of a safe and enjoyable day. If there is a cancellation, it will be posted on the event Facebook page the day before the race.
*While we love your dogs, please leave them at home or on the sidelines. For safety reasons, we can’t allow dogs in the race. Thank you! *
A true trail run, the rugged 4.5-mile race course goes up a mountain, over bridges and through the woods of Amy’s Park. The overall winner and top male competitor from 2018's race was Volker Burkowski, who finished in 37 minutes 34 seconds. Top female competitor was AnnMary Baker (pictured), who came in 3rd overall at 42 minutes and 10 seconds.
The awards ceremony takes place at the finish line with winners receiving prizes from Salomon as well as a bottle of local maple syrup. Each participant receives a laser-cut wooden maple-leaf shaped medal by Adirondack Etching (pictured). Runners, family, friends and event volunteers then join together for the after-race party at Bolton Landing Brewing Co.
Amy's Race winds its way through Amy's Park, a pristine wetland preserve that is a prime example of the benefits of land conservation. Amy's Park, named in memory of Amy Wolgin Weiner, provides habitat to countless species and filters gallons of water flowing down Indian Brook into Lake George. Amy's Race brings attention to this beautiful, protected land made possible by the Lake George Land Conservancy and the Wolgin Family.
MANY THANKS TO OUR SPONSORS!
